late discovery
Thursday, January 14, 2010

We have been catching up on some mag reading over summer, when we stumbled upon, this home feature of Nic MacIsaac, the founder of the Magnolia Square retail fair.

Home beautiful did a great spread of her beautiful house, which features our Lace light in the hall way. There is a great quote by Nic: " I'm happiest when I walk in and see that beautiful light....." It is so lovely to hear people say this about our work, this is what we are all about bringing pleasure to people through products.

Garden Party at Gaffa Gallery
Thursday, November 12, 2009

Tonight our new work Garden Party, will be launched at Gaffa Gallery, as part of the Interpretations II exhibition, which has been co-ordinated by Andrew Simpson from Vert design.

Other exhibitors are,
Andrew himself, as well as Oliver Smith, Trent Jansen and Phillippa Carnemolla.

Here are some photos from the installation to entice you to come by and have a look.

Garden party :large punched metal flowers, which overlap and connect to form a whimsical screen or metal wallpaper. The installation is a digital dialogue of floral metal laces,  which has retained just a hint of a nostalgic interior.

The flowers have a very contemporary digital language, which is partly achieved through the punched metal manufacturing process. The flowers are available in several colours which can be arranged to create different environments. They can be used inside or out.

Korean Design Conference
Monday, October 26, 2009

I have just returned from 5 days in Seoul. I was there to give a paper of our work at the International Associations of Societies of Design Research.

The conference was pretty good as far as conferences go, but the city is what was really exciting. I was both suprised and impressed by the sophistication of this technological city. What was also wonderful was  traces of the traditional life and folk crafts in many pockets of the city.
